Jungs,

Was hast du damals benutzt?

Hi people, i hope you all don't mind if i write in English! At the moment, i'm totally ok with the book that i bought (Der Pilotentest) What i do find strange though is, i've read 2 "Erfahrungsberichte" here about AB and, from what i gather anyhow, the tests that they ask are easier than those at LH. If i am right then the amount that i need to practise is really at a minimum.... or maybe i've just understood everything really badly? Does anyone know if there is a translation test? I spoke with someone at IP last week and asked if i could bring a dictionary with me (an electronic one) and she said that's ok. It would, however, be totally silly if there was a translation part! I think that they want to test whether you know what the word means, in that case i would reckon my chances a little higher than a lot of the competition. ALSO (sorry i ask loads of questions here), but are the questions, and the paper, written in english? I've been living in Germany for about a year and i would say that my german is okay... anything really complicated though zb erzähl mal wie ein Triebwerk funktioniert. would really make me sweat! _________________ AB: 03.10.2007

MGM hat folgendes geschrieben: | If i am right then the amount that i need to practise is really at a minimum.... or maybe i've just understood everything really badly? |
Viktor |

Hi Victor, I think you misunderstood what I meant with that quote. With "the minimum" I meant the amount of exercises that one needs to learn in comparison to the LH test (e.g. Acoustic tests since these won’t be tested at IP – by the way, I will also be learning these, just in case!). I did not mean that I intend on studying for 1 hour before the test and hoping all will go well. I have my test in 5 weeks and I’m spending at least 2 hours a day reading and practising. Maths is one of my strongest subject and I use it everyday for my job (I also made it a part of my Uni degree). Speaking of motivation,,, well, I can’t be more motivated, otherwise I would be dead! ;D As for "bauchgefühl" for the English test, I know exactly what you mean! As a native English speaker we don't really learn the "rules" and I couldn't, for example, explain why so and so is. I can never seam to get more than 96% in the tests and I would argue till I’m blue in the face that some of the “answers” at IP are wrong (e.g. “the trousers, THAT/WHICH he bought yesterday….” Strictly speaking, I do not know anyone that says “which”, but this is apparently the correct answer. I checked this using my grammar book and the usage of “that” is also correct …. So WHY IP say I am wrong with my answer of “that” is beyond my comprehension … I think I just need to live with it!) _________________ AB: 03.10.2007
