Hello! My name's Marco and I'm from Italy but I'm partly German too. However, my German isn't fluent yet, hence I am writing in English - I'm sorry for that.
I want to start flight training from 0 up to my ATPL frozen through modular training. I have secure job at my family's business in Germany therefore I would like to start flight training for a PPL + NVFR and then study ATPL theory in DL.
I would like to know what the average cost in Germany is in order to obtain my PPL + NVFR.
Furthermore, there is a problem here in Italy: bureaucrazy literally sucks and I know two guys that after having finished the PPL course they had to wait for six (6!!!) more months for the examiner! I hope that in Germany is not like that... What is the waiting time for the examiner usually?
Finally, I would like to know what are the flight school or flying clubs around either Frankfurt am Main area or Gießen area.
Once again, sorry for posting in English. I promise that I'll keep practicing German!
Dankeschön! _________________ Marco |

Welome aboard!
I don't know if you're aware of the chance to actually get into a cockpit after having a privately financed atpl finished, but right now there is just a little chance. If you want to know more about it keep reading on here. Hence you wrote your German wouldn't be fluent yet, in my opinion you should keep studying German and then try to get into LH or LX ab-initio program.
Many people on here will share my opinion.
You will get some more information about your questions by others. |

First of all, thanks for your reply. Getting into LH or another German carrier is not my number one priority. Airlines are not my main goal as I am very interested in istructing and general aviation.
After having passed my ATPL exams I will move to the US with a F-1 visa and then convert my licences somewhere in Europe.
Of course, I will keep studying German and practicing it in Germany. _________________ Marco |

Have a look around where you live. I think, there will be a flight school where you can get your ppl + nvfr. The cheapest way is mostly to join a club. Maybe thats an option for you. _________________ ~ 3 km Autobahn sind nichts, 3 km Runway verbindet die Welt. ~ |
