Lieber Kollegen,

(I will write in English is faster for me)

I was in the IP assessment in January 2010, I successfully passed it, and I was invited to an interview direct with AB in Berlin, there I was told that I would enter in the waiting list between the number 10 and 20th... This was already 10 months ago... I've been in contact with pilot recruiting personal, they have always told me that they will hire soon, but now I heard that they still do not have any plans to hire for the coming season, that means before not before December but may be for next spring...
Does anybody has any information about hiring plans, or overall hiring pilots situation in AB.
Any info will be appreciated!

The official statement you hear all the time says the pilots from airberlin flightschool have priority, thereafter they hire ready-entries (depending on the demand). I haven't got too many information about the present situation but one flightschool course finished recently (meaning they are fully qualified with T/R and line check...) and the next one partly started simulator training and should be done first or second quarter 2011. Furthermore a lot of pilots from Lufthansa where hired for the summer flight shedule and as far as I know should return to Lufthansa soon.

But Air Berlin has removed the job ad from their webpage again!
What I've heard is that they want to expand cheaper subsidiary company like Niki and not AirBerlin or LTU directly. Maybe you can find a job there since they are in the air berlin group and you need a positive IP assement too.
Anyway I would try to stay in contact with the recruiting staff !!

Everything can change very quickly in the airline business! And my personal feeling is that they will hire at least in spring...
