hab bestenden

You will do at some point in the whole GAPF test the IQ test. This IQ test is a normal IQ test as in the internet. The IQ test has many other small parts. Every part you have to do for a certain amount of time. The time is not enough or sufficient to complete the test part, but don't worry, do as much as you can. You don't have to fill in everything. The professor will tell you how much time you have. Listen carefully to him and if you are not 100% sure what to do, ask him. Ask him every time you want to know something.
Next test. You have the following test on your paper :
4958358223
What you have to do here is to add the numbers first. Example:4+9+5+8+3+5+8+2+2+3.
The result is 44 and you write it down next to the row. From now on you take the last number of 44, this last number is 4 and you look where in the row above : 4958358223, you have the number 4.
It's as you see the first number of the row. You cross with your pen this number, which is in this case number 4.
For this test you have 10 parts to do. The time for each part is as you already know, not enough, but you don't worry about that stuff and do as much rows as you can. Be concentrated. The professor will explain the test to you carefully. What you can do to practise this test is to add small numbers at home: 4+5+6+7+8+2+9+4+2+6+4+7.
Next test is about communication and cooperation.
In this test you have to work with a partner. You are given the task that you are crashed with a small aircraft somewhere in Canada in the woods(forest). You have a papre with information about the area where you crashed, what you have as tools and help, the weather forcast and a map.
You have from now on 15 min. to plan and write down the stick points and questions you will ask to your partner. After the 15 min. you start to discuss with your partner a way out of the woods till you both reach the civilization.
Be a team player, lead but don't dominate too much.
For the next test you will go in the flight simulator. Practise with a normal flight simulator at home. Get familiar with the main instruments, compass, altitude indicator, speed indicator.
In one of the test you have to fly through 3D tunnels. In the next test you have a cross hair
and you have to position the cross hai directly above a cross on the mountain in the flight simulator infront of you. It's hard to do that, but try your best.
On the next test you are given an order which you have to terminate. You have 30 sec. to do that. Example: turn 120 degrees to the right, climb 1500 feet, 30 sec.
You have to reach the given altitude and bring into course the aircraft exactly when the time ends and not before. That means if you have the order to turn 120 to the right and climb 1500 feet, you have to reach 1500 and turned the 120 degrees on the 30 sec.
Don't worry it will be explained to you very carefully. Just listen and ask if you don't know.
On the next simulator test, you have to watch the instruments, then you recieve information about the wind, then all information from the screen disapears. You can see the information again but only of a single intrument by clicking on it. You have to remember the information and fill in in a box. Information about the new course, old course, altitude, speed and new direction. But don't worry. Everything will be explained to you. You can do it. It's not that difficult.
The next part is the interview with Herr Prof. Dr. philos. Diplom. Braun.
It's a stress interview. He will tear you apart. Don't loose control. Remain calm and friendly. If he pushes you too much show him the limit. He will ask every possible thing to the smallest detail. A lot of things you will not know. Think about that things but if you don't know just say that you don't know.
Questions he asks:
The jet engine. How it works. Here is link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON0sVe1yeOk&feature=related
http://www.geocities.com/galemcraig/
Dangers of flying. The dangers are:
Dry air in the cabin. Dry air because the air is sucked in into the engine. The temperature in the engine is very hot and thats why the air molekule evapourates and then this air taken from outside is placed into the cabin and thats why it's so dry.
Radioactivity. Radioactivity from the sun. Alpha, Beta and Gamma radioactivity. Alpha and beta have a big molekule and thats why they don't get through the airplane's skin. They are not dangerous. Gamma has a small malecule and it gets through the plane skin and harmes you. The chance of getting cancer increases and it destroys your ability to have children, destroys your sperm.
I have asked A couple of doctors about the last thing, the sperm and the doctors say that there is nothing like that. That this is not correct, it doesn't harm your sperm or testicals. But the professor has a different opinion.
Jetlag. When you fly through more time zones.
What do you think is the job of a pilot and why do you want to do that.
What is communication? Say what you think. There is no right or wrong answer.
What is the most dangerous part of the flight. Take off and landing. He will ask you then why is it the most dangerous part.
There are no mathematics and physics.

Hey,
Bin wohl im November 2009 an der Reihe. Könnte vielleicht jemand mal wieder einen aktuellen Erfahrungsbericht des GAPF-Tests posten? Würde mir mit Sicherheit weiterhelfen.
